That's what i'm thinking too.
Was it moving as fast as a meteor? Satellites don't move that fast but faster than a jet across the sky. ISS moves across the sky pretty quickly.
The Quadrantid meteor shower is going on now too. Not all meteors leave a trail.

You can go to Heavens Above to see if there were any satellites or anything viewable from your location at thetime you saw it.

Apologies for losing my temper 😱
I don't know what it was, but it went from one side of the sky to the other in a couple of seconds, this damn thing is fast!!

Never seen one but I do believe there is other sentient beings out there . We can't be the only ones to beat the odds.

in 1975 we were driving down to Arkansas from seattle. it was only about 10:30 pm but pretty dark outside. All of a sudden the whole sky turned bright as day. There were 2 mountains and the light went between them at an incredible rate of speed and the light diminished greatly. Then it did a 90 degree turn without slowing down and was out of sight in just a few seconds leaving everything dark again. To this day I don't know what it was, but I remember it like it was yesterday.

I was 10 years old then.

IMHO...

folks who believe in God & the Bible should believe fervently that we are not alone (there are lots of non-terrestrial life forms in the Bible)

those who do not believe in God should also believe we are not alone, but for very different reasons (infinite universe, lots of possible life out there somewhere)

there should only be a small minority out there who are convinced that we are all alone in a seemingly infinite universe, in my view that would be a most pitiable condition

Like I said - IMHO 😉
I have no intention of starting up any kind of a war here - just trying to point out what seems to me to be a completely logical point of view.

As to lights in the sky, there are many phenomen that are little understood going on around us all the time. Is there 'intelligent design' behind some of it? Maybe, maybe not.
We (the USA) have many things in the sky - some known and some secret.
From the little exposure I have had with NSA, CIA & other US Govt agencies I know that they have stuff that is kept secret from the public. That is by it's very nature necessary.

Also remember that space is big... really, really big... (Thanks Douglas Adams)
What I mean is just this - we do not know about all the stuff out there in space yet.
That's a complete understatement if I've ever uttered one.

So, if something happens to hit our atmosphere that we haven't seen before and it acts differently than anything else we have ever seen (or the same as somehting we saw a long time ago)... Is that so strange? I think... No.

I think we should be expecting this kind of stuff & looking up for it more often. 😉

And still, just looking to our own planet for a moment, there's plenty we still don't know yet about our own weather, our own oceans, life-forms being discovered in places we didn't think were possible even just a couple decades ago.

There's a whole lot of mysterious stuff still to figure out right here on planet Earth. 😉

Those beings are not from another planet. They don't count in conversations such as this, since ET has 2 requirements: Not from earth, and from another planet. Not just not from earth.

ATOT is that-a-way.

Could have been a fast fighter jet, or other low flying plane (aircraft which are lower appear to go faster), ball lightning, hallucinations, etc.

If all these UFO sightings were real, we couldn't have commercial air travel for all the alien spacecraft clogging the skies.

Who said anything about "from another planet".

Why do you think ET must be "from another planet"?
I understand that seems to be a widely held idea, after all since we humans are from a planet, all life forms must be from a planet?

That seems too narrow a point of view.

Play out M theory for a little while and consider that there could be infinite dimensions parellel to our own in which beings like and unlike us live.

Lets agree just for a moment that there are places and things out in the infinite cosmos that we have not even imagined, if that is true then why could life not come from some thing or place, in some way other than our narrow definition of it?

C.S. Lewis wrote some Sci-Fi that I admired, in which (if I am remembering correctly) the "alien" life knew better than to get too near the earth. That seems to be a wise position given that most of the human beings here would most likely not be beneficial to any beings "out there".

Maybe after we mature for a bit longer, grow up & figure out how to live peacefully with each other.

That might just take a while though. 😉

I think it's ignorant of you to think we aren't.

Then you can add me to your ignorant list and I will do the same for you.

count me as being ignorant then...trilions of other stars in the universe and we are the only ones??????

It is possible to make a case (from the Bible) that Heaven is a planet!

So, is it just because those beings are spiritual that they can travel faster than light?

And is it possible for physical beings to discover how those spiritual beings travel so fast?

It would have to be in order for those physical beings to travel to this planet. Now if every planet has intelligent life then the nearest could maybe get here without FTL travel.

My favorite thing to wonder...

For thousands of years man rode animals or walked, then almost overnight he built a car a train, aircraft, spacecraft etc...

Who taught him how to do these things? and why did it take less than a hundred years, after thousands of years, to go from building the first car to spaceflight?

I am ignorant as well, I still believe that the government found wreckage and is/are using it to model todays/tommorows discoveries.

Too far fetched? maybe, I still find it hard to believe that the stealth planes were drawn in the 1940's, yet they took 30 years to prototype. Our design or someone elses?

Amazing still is that most of this was predicted by the bible, long before it was even possible.

Oh, by the way, I am a nut case too!

I'm agreeing with Mondo... It's out in space either junk or a Satilite. If you stare skyward for about 3-4 minutes you always see 1 or 2 passby at high speed.

(And thats a Yanks story to keep our spy ship secret) 😉

As you are sure you don't care.........

YOU NUT CASE 😛

(I try not to scoff at what I can't explain.... I try to find an explanation.... Yours is as good as any in my book)
