How do I save a .asf file from the internet locally? I want to download an entire clip and save it to my hard drive instead of streaming it so I can watch it. When streaming it keeps pausing all the time. Help.

You can right click on the link and you should see "Save Target As..." This only works if it is a direct link to the asf file.

Well, you can. You just have to rid yourself of the oh-so proprietary Windows Media Player! Remove the program (takes 5 seconds) and restart your computer. Then click on the movie link and it will give you the "save to disk" prompt. When you're done downloading what you want, re-install the media player (takes 30 seconds) and view the movies all you want!






But I think you're lookin' for an easier way
