OT: Best Methods For Dealing With Influenza?

I managed to avoid getting sick all winter, then my boss's boss came by work Thursday, and she was ill. Two hours later, I started coughing, and by the end of the shift I felt dead on my feet. What do you do when you have the flu?

Plus, I still have to go into work Sunday night to cover for my boss, who is out of town, so I cannot call in sick until Monday. :(

Well, first off, at night, take something that will knock you OUT! Sleep is good. Drink plenty of fluids, try to eat, and I try to take a few Tylenol Extra Strength along with some Echinacea. It does enough, sometimes, to be able to let me get up off the couch.

I have it now as well. My wife had it for a week before me and she still isn't all recovered.
I'm taking all the medication I can stand and just trying to survive.

ShotgunSteve is accusing me of giving it to him. (Gulf of Mexico to Alaska ... yeah, right) Ha!

As I told him, cheer up! I'm starting to get better so it's not the "deadly" one! :D

I agree with ICXRa. I usually mega-dose on vitamin C and I swear I recover more quickly than if I don't. The best thing for you is rest. If you've got it in the sinuses, take some Advil Cold and Sinus to relieve the pressure before going to bed and get some Breathe-Right strips to help you breathe at night, too.

In the future, don't forget to schedule LiveUpdate to keep your virus def's up to date so this doesn't happen. :)

god if he actually does this, i'll be LMFAO so hard...hehehe, seriously tho, if its somthing like the stoumach flu sleep, and let the "gas" out, just be on the pot when you do it. if its the stuffy head version, steambath no joke good stuff, humidifier is good with a little heat aswell, warm washcloth behind the neck, or cool on the forehead is nice too. make yourself comphfy AND GET BETTER SOON DAMNIT!
