OT: APIC card for dual processors?

I know alot of you have older dual processor mobos... and I happen to have one that requires an APIC card to run in SMP mode, else it runs only one. I have 2 p3 500 katami i'd like to do some seti under... but right now i'm stuck w/ one.

If anyone knows where I can get one cheap (~$5-10) I'd be very appreciative.

APIC card? 😕

Are you referring to a VRM.. as in Voltage Regulator Module??

I have a couple here I'd be happy to send ya, though no guarrantee they'll work with your board. LMK 🙂

It's been awhile, but I think that the APIC modules are specific to each model (or more likely brand) motherboard. Methinks you'll be at the mercy of whatever vendor you can find that still carries this relatively ancient part.

Two years ago, I was able to obtain an APIC for an ECS 440LX dually mobo for around $20 + S&H. Now, it might be a little higher if you can find it.

You're probably better off to dump that motherboard and buy a 440BX, which has the APIC built-in in most cases.
