OT: Anyone Have Links On Where To Make Your Dead CPU to A KeyChain?

I currently have a Dead 700Mhz duron that i wanted to make into a keychain.

I think it would look really nice.

I already have taken ALL the pins off behind the cpu, now just need a guide on how to make a loop so i can attach it to a keyring.

Links are greatly appriciated..

TIA!

you're supposed to take the pins off? 🙂
id just take a tiny drill bit, go through the edge, and slide a keyring thing around it. didnt know there was more to it than that.

If you do try to drill through the packaging, good luck with regular tools. Its supposedly 2.5x harder than tool steel.

I'm sure a carbide, center cutting, end mill, in a drill press or a milling machine, will do a real nice job of putting a clean hole in the substrate. Otherwise you could maybe encase the unit in lucite, and then drill though the lucite. Don't think you'll have any luck soldering to the chip. A good epoxy would work to attach a loop or something. But it might look a bit sloppy, depending on how the epoxy spreads out, etc.
