OT - Am I crazy to want this?

Okay, the Canterwoods are coming out so it's time to put together my new system. I've decided on just about everything but the case and the CPU cooler, and I'm concerned about heat. Maybe too concerned.

Am I crazy :p to want this case?

I will start with a 2.6 Northwood (Prescott eventually, thus the Canterwood). The rig will run 24/7 in an apartment with NO air-conditioning, mostly crunching SETI WUs and gaming. I'll probably dabble with overclocking.

Is this thing overkill? Should I just go with a stock Lian-Li or the Kingwin?

Just my 5 cents but Aluminum cases do not help in temps at all! Its all about the airflow and if you have a good quality heatsink.... Also the larger the better, you want to get your hot HDs and such far away from your CPU...

Not crazy at all. It's a nice looking case that looks to have good airflow with the fans it has. But remember as Remy said, Aluminum will not help your cooling, it's the airflow. But the cases that are aluminum are VERY light so if you go to lan party's with it, it's not a ton!

I think Crow and Assimilator1 will vouch for how much nicer an aluminium case is for LAN parties compared to a huge, steel case, especially one that holds 2 ATX computers, like mine! ;)

It's the tons of fans (especially the unrestricted 120mm blowhole) and the nice looks I like, not the (useless) thermal properties of Aluminum.

All the swanky cases at the moment are aluminum, I find.

While aluminum does not help in the cooling dept, it certainly helps out in the noise department... at least depending on the thickness of the metal. It does not look that think at all.
But it most certain looks
