OSX upgrades = what for gaming?

With the new upgrades to OSX with Tiger will gaming on a Mac work out better then in the past? I would assume that by letting the GPU do its thing rather then giving those responsibilities to the CPU it would, but does anyone have a guess as to by how much this will help the quality of the gaming?
 
I don't know if it will change anything (Core image). It seems that most of the times the ports for PC games just aren't done that well.
