OSX 10.6.7 Network Printer Help!

I'm trying to install a networked Laserjet 4000n on my fiance's macbook pro. The printer works fine with the three windows 7 computers on the network but I can't seem to get it to work on her Mac. Every time I try to add the printer and after I enter the IP I get a prompt saying: "An error occurred while trying to add the selected printer - connection refused". Is there something I need to change on the printer or something I need to do within OSX to get this working? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
