OSX 10.5 Question

Recently picked up a Powermac G5 dual core 2.3ghz machine for reasons (always wanted one and came across a good deal). Naturally, this Mac tops out at OSX 10.5. My problem is I cannot get it to connect to any of my network drives shared from my Windows 7 server. My El Capitan (now Sierra) laptop has no issues doing this but my Powermac cannot. I've done smb://999.555.44.2/sharename and it will not connect. I know it's old technology but being able to share files over the network with it would be great! Any ideas?

Could it have anything to do with SMB versions (1 vs 2)?

P.S. That Power Mac is slower than my iPhone. 😀

It may, do you know of a way to update or use a different application to connect?

And yes, yes it is! But nostalgia plays a big role in my love for the tech. I currently have the dual G5, a G4, a G3 tower, a G3 iMac, a newer(ish, relatively speaking) C2D Macbook, a C2D Mac Mini, and umm...I think that's about it hahah

I want one of those iMac's on the top shelf and a cube, those are a couple that I want that I don't have. Jealous!!

Very nice setup, though; major compliments!

I still have L.A. Reid's lamp mac from when they booted him from Arista Records. I used to use it as a picture frame. Had pics streaming on it. Now it collects dust.
