There very well could have been a firefight in the room with his bodyguards and he was killed in that firefight even though he was unarmed. Furthermore the term 'firefight' could have been used generally to describe the first part of the operation. You know - where there were firefights going on in the complex.

Take him alive:
Where will you imprison him ? gitmo ?
How will you do the trial ? who will be present ? Will it be public ?
What specific evidence is their and who will be his defense ?

Questions about the mission and how it was handled

Killing him was the easiest way to handle it.

Ain't no way they trained for 10 MONTHS to take the compound to CAPTURE him, then shot him in the head unarmed. If all they wanted was to kill him, they wouldn't have waited 10 months to do so and given him the chance to escape in the meantime. BTW what do you think a snipers job is? Invariably it's targeted killing of unarmed.
