Soo... who are your winning picks for the Oscars this year?

I think that George Clooney is a shoe-in for Best Actor this year for The Descendants... I'm not sure who's going to get the Best Picture nod, though. I'd personally pick Moneyball, but I don't think that it's actually going to win.

Meh. It is a terrible year for Oscar. Nothing in the Best Picture lineup compares to recent greats like "The King's Speech" or "Inglorious Basterds" or "The Social Network."

And the best actors were left out. Actors like Michael Fassbender for "Shame" and "A Dangerous Method" or "Ryan Gossling" for the "Ides of March."

And Clooney simply sucks as an actor. Give him is statue and be done with him.

Where did all these movies come from? I only watched Midnight, Moneyball and Hugo. Never even heard of other movies.

ATOT does not care about the Oscars. It's just a bunch of snooty liberals smelling their own farts the whole time. They will probably pick that stupid silent film for movie of the year because they always have awful tastes like that.

I refuse to watch the Oscars ever since they screwed over DDL for his most excellent performance in Gangs of New York.

Hey now... I liked The Descendants! It's no "The King's Speech", but I'd be OK with Clooney winning an Oscar for it.

Heh... am I the only one who has no interest in seeing that movie? It just looked boring to me.

Ditto... I haven't seen it, but on the surface, it seems gimmicky. It being "silent" makes me want to watch it less...

Tough decision...I'm in a hotel room that has HORRIBLE TVs (tubes, fuzzy quality), most of the team will be at the bar in a bit...and I have to leave for the airport at 6AM. So I'm debating just not watching at all and watching it tomorrow after I get home.

Hmph.

I would go with The Help as best picture. No one actor stood out but over all it was good.
