A new al-Qaida videotape posted Sunday on a militant Web site featured a short, undated clip of a weary-looking Osama bin Laden praising martyrdom.
The bin Laden clip, which lasted less than a minute, was part of a 40- minute video featuring purported al-Qaida fighters in Afghanistan paying tribute to fellow militants who have been killed in the country. It was posted by the group's media production wing.

Bin Laden glorified those who die in the name of jihad, or holy war, saying even the Prophet Muhammad "had been wishing to be a martyr."

"The happy (man) is the one that God has chosen him to be a martyr," added bin Laden, who was shown outdoors wearing army fatigues and looking tired.
With all the chatter we are hearing lately this could be a bad sign. Perhaps they are hoping to push people into martyring themselves in the name of Jihad etc etc.

No real way to tell how long ago the video was made though.
I think Osama is dead. He hasn?t made a ?new? video in a long long time meanwhile his second in command shows up every other week it seems.
If he was alive and capable of making videos I think we would be seeing them.

Well, yeah. I've been hammering at the theory that Iraq has anything to do with terrorism as it applies to the US. Now it turns out that the training and ops are occurring elsewhere. It was always a ridiculous assumption that those who are capable of infiltrating the US would be sucked against their will or better judgment into Iraq when people with lesser ability can do the grunt work. Eventually someone with authority will figure this out (when the next administration comes in I suspect. This one is incapable of adjustment or self correction) but it's too late for Iraq.

This pretty much sucks.

Thanks. We needed some more useless Bushwacko fear mongering. You're right in step with that other trained chimp, Homeland Security chief Michael Chertoff, whose idea of a good time is trying to scare the ignorant with his "gut feeling."

What's the going rate to be an administration shill?

I hate to say it but even if terrorists slip into the states I could care less. We can take anything they throw at us.

He's right. Bin Ladin is just one of millions of bearded turban wearers that need to be exterminated. In the scheme of things, he's not that important.

Ok---I'll bite---and will join everyone else who are equally clueless on what to make of it.

What do you have against Sikhs?

Neither was Saddam. I'm glad we agree that our leadership makes too many boogeymen.

Things must be going really bad for Bush for him to bring out Osama himself to scare the sheeple into obedience.

I heard on the radio that they think the part with OBL is five years old.

There's nothing to prove that he made any recent videos.

Sure we can, take it right up the proverbial ass, by some highly trained nutjobs piloting 747's. Yeah, we can take it, lose a few thousand lives, then go retaliate in the dark, with orders improvised by a mad man, who gives you wool curtains for your eyes. Yep, that's the ticket.

BTW, OBL is still dead.

Evil never dies---and neither can Ossama Bin Laden----what scare value is there in a dead Bogie man? But terror terror terror keeps the bucks flowing into the war machine---and keeps the wheels greased---who knows what country we are going to need to invade next?

And thats the other beauty of a terrorist----we can say to any country---bring me the broomstick of any terrorist---and if they can't produce it---its invasion time.

I doubt it, but, like Michael Chertoff's "gut feelings," it would be consistant with the Bushwhackos' continuous campaign of fear mongering.

How many videos were released during the time when Cheney was telling us all that if we vote for Democrats that Osama will get us?
