os x install on powerbook g3?

i got tiger running on an old g3 tower with about 512 mbs of memory.
right now, when i try to installon the g3 laptop, it says "os x cant be installed here."
it may be obvious from my previous posts, but i have tons of part about to "play" with...is it a matter of memory or is this simply an impossible challenge?

Wow. Bascially, you can just clone the OS from another Mac and it will work?

i dont know in this case, but at my job we make two or three images with CCC and then just netboot them onto any machine we need. usually we just run into memory issues.
we have also needed to make seperate images for laptps and desktops in order for them to display properly.
i had never seen this error, before, so i was just checking to see if i could image it and not somehow destroy the laptop.
