OS X 10.4.7 Universal Server performance

I'm kind of curious if anyone knows what version of OS X Server (or client) Anand used in the Mac SQL performance....

Also if there's ever a followup article to that, I'd love to see the PPC platforms performance on OS X Universal server (compiled on GCC4) compared to the defacto 10.4.7 server (compiled on gcc3.3). Personally, having run OS X Servers on PPC hardware I'm wondering what sort of performance gain I would get running on Intel based hardware. I saw a enormous performance gain reloading my servers from the 10.4.7 Universal server medium... I suppose the G5 optimization probably has something to do with that. Apple made several other code changes I believe one of the main ones being the AFP server.

I'm guessing Apple is still working on the optimizations for the Intel based versions of OSX Server to avoid the same performance embarrassment with intial XServers running on the G5. If you saw the same tests I did a few years ago, it was bad, real bad. Expectations for the Intel version are obviously higher, and I don't think Apple will have trouble meeting them this time.

I insist we see both Windows and Linux platforms also compared though as a frame of reference. Give everybody something to argue about.
