So the OS ten ten dot ten public beta is out this summer. Who here is signing up? I'm not keen on it because I've often run into serious issues with new OS X releases before the .1 or even .3 update.

I signed up. Currently have mavericks running on the desktop in my Sig. I agree use a VM first. I'm Currently looking to get another MacBook sometime this summer.
 
No chance on a main machine. Someone else can sort the bugs out.

Yeah, same. I'm not even on Mavericks yet, haha.
 
It's tempting but I'll wait until the final version. I don't use my MacBook as a primary computer anymore, but I don't feel like farting around with it if something breaks.
 
Anyone know how to set up Continuity on Yosemite & iOS 8?

edit: nvm, there was a setting under System Prefs > General that I missed 😳

What are the advantages of Yosemite without iOS 8? I've got an app I'm working on and don't plan to upgrade my phone for a while.
 
I was signed up for the Mavericks betas and asked for the Yosemite Beta. Has anyone that signed up received their email or Beta yet?
 
Yea it looks exactly like ios 7. I actually have it installed on my pc on another hd. It's pretty simplistic. The doc is now faded and the apps all look like ios7. I was able to use the same kexts I run on mavericks on my ssd to get sound and internet working. My gpu is automatically recognized which is nice.

It's a bit buggy of course and sometimes when you reboot it, it opens previous Windows although you told it not to.

If you have an Apple developer account you should be able to get it.

Perian is flaky IMO.

I just use VLC. Or else Flip4Mac in QuickTime.

There's also MPlayerX but I can't remember how good it is with AVI.

I had forgotten about Flip4Mac, isn't that just WMVs, and whatnot though? I just use VLC as well.
