OS wont Load unless OS Disk in

My computer will not start up anymore unless i have the XP disk in the DVD drive. After it says to boot from cd.... i just pull out the disk and it loads. I dont know what i did, but it started the other day, just wondering if u may know what the problem is

Did you remove or format one of the hard disk drives in your PC, maybe?

Your boot manager is either corrupt, missing, or is on another hard drive that was removed, formatted, or is corrupt.

Do a repair install.

I've use the hal.dll and the repair install. The repair install always works for me. The hal.dll insertion worked on ocassion, and also mscoree.dll.

I usually keep a disk filled with dll's, inf's, exe's and sys's that will replace damaged, missing or corrupt files. It takes time to collect material but sometimes it makes it so much easier when you need something.
