OS: Win 7.. Should I? st build

Almost done buying everything needed for my best build.
Currently on our home PC and laptop we have Win. 8.
We are def. not fans. And we do use the option to mimic Win 7.
My wife and I both use Win. 7 @ work and are very comfortable with it.
How crazy would I be if I installed Win. 7 (64bit prof).
I understand 10 is around the corner. And if 10 turns out to be something great I will get 10. But until then.....
Now what is this I hear about Windows no longer offering updates for Win 7?

Thanks everyone

*Would you buy a Win 7. software package in box from someone online or CL?

Windows 10 will be a free upgrade from 7 and 8, so there is nothing wrong with going 7 for now, since that is what you are more comfortable with. Or just keep 7 until EOL. What is the point of having a computer if you have to settle for an OS you know you don't like?

I vote 7. I tried 8.1 as an experiment, although it's faster and, as I understand it, better under the hood than even 7 is, I prefer W7. As Ketchup pointed out, you can always upgrade it later...

If I was buying an OS for a computer today, I'd buy 7.

Really? When/where did you get this information?

I personally cannot stand Win 8. I bought a new laptop that came with windows 8. I immediately purchased a copy of Win 7 and installed it. I just built two new computers with Win 7. Win 7 gets my vote.

7 hands down. It's much more usable for a desktop. 8 is fine for a tablet or computer that will be used mostly via touch screen. 10 might be better than 8 so you can always upgrade to that once support for 7 is done but they'll probably keep extending it like they did with xp.
