OS on a flash drive

anyone did it before? I'm thinking about loading Linux or Windows 2008 on it, although the Windows option is almost impossible because it takes up so much space...

how were the results? any boot-up problems?

I've run Ubuntu, and miniPCLinux off of flashdrives. It works fine.
