What do you mean by "someone" reload another OS on my computer? That isn't something that happens quickly or easily.
The problem you note in
your other thread suggests your machine may be infected with some form of malware (virus, spyware, etc.).
It often takes less time to re-install Windows on a clean drive than to remove infections from an existing installation, and it's definitely a more certain solution. If all you need is your work files:
1. Remove your drive from your machine.
2. Connect your hard drive as a slave to another working, machine that is fully backed up and well protected with anti-virus and anti-spyware programs. Be sure the other machine is fully backed up in case your drive infects it.
3. From the other machine, scan your drive, kill any infected files and copy your critical files to a flash drive or CD.
4. Move your drive back to your machine, re-install Windows and a fresh copy of your AV and anti-spyware, and update them.
5. From your newly installed and protected drive, scan the flash drive or CD containing your old files, and transfer them back to your drive.
If you have a spare hard drive, another way is to install Windows on that drive instead of using another machine.
If you have a program like an older version of Norton Ghost, which works with XP and older versions of Windows, or newer version of Acronis True Image, which works with Win 7 and Vista, you can clone your drive as you build it.
A cloned drive works like the original from which it's cloned. If clone your new installation before you attempt to transfer your old files, and it becomes infected while transferring them, you can restore it back to its previous, uninfected state and try again.
It's time consuming, and it isn't always easy. I know. I'm in the middle of rescuing my neighbor from a bad infection, right now, and I've had to re-clone back to a previous state three times while working through the problem. :hmm:
Good luck.
