OS/cpu speed testing software

I'm looking for some software that will test the speed of my cpu and operating system. I just installed my Athlon64 and downloaded the free Windows XP Pro 64-Bit version from Microsoft and I'm going to install the OS on a second hard drive. I have some of my own programs that I wrote (scientific/mathematics mostly, heavy on floating point arithmetic), but I'm looking for some true testing software to put these two OS's to the test (xp pro 32 vs. xp pro 64). Any ideas?
