OS boot order - how to change?

How do I get XP 32 bit to be default OS loaded by BIOS over XP 64 bit? Am afraid to validate XP 64 bit as I fear my XP Pro will no longer update, etc. Am stuck with XP 64 bit as default OS or at least first in order to load when PC boots. Could not seem to find this on net or I just did a crappy search.... I want to re order them so that XP Pro is first in boot order and default loads if I start PC and walk away.

Open boot.ini in the root drive with notepad (you might have to unhide system files) and modify the default OS line. Be careful if you don't know much about how to modify it.

Else

Go to System Properties > Advanced (tab) > Startup and Recovery Settings (command button). Modify the default OS in the drop-down list.
