Orthos stability

Can running other apps while testing with Orthos cause an error?

Can logging in under another user name and running apps while Orthos is running cause errors as well?

Is it best to leave the computer alone while torture testing?

Also, are rounding errors generally memory related?

1. Well ideally it shouldn't. orthos gets less priority than say some other ap you're running but you'll still be loading 100%. it's just taking some clock cycles away from orthos but no errors should be caused if everything is stable.

2. see #1. it shouldn't matter if you switch user names... but this is something i've never seen before. 🙂

3. generally speaking, yes but again see #1.

4. usually an error is dependent on the test (small, large, blend). for small fft test it's usually related to not sufficient vcore. blend can be not enough vcore or vdimm. large -... i'm not too sure about. it says ram but if you look at memory usage during test, it doesn't spike or peak as high as say blend test.

If I run Orthos with system set at the very upper limit, then it will trigger a fault with 30 minutes when I use the PC. Note that Orthos does not guarantee 100% system stability. You need to use the PC.
