Wish you still had these in Douglasville, GA. I'd pressure you to make a group ride out of it now that I ride as well. 🙁 I recall attending one about 10 years ago and you or someone else there had a freakin' ton of WD new monstrously huge/fast HDDs.

Great host.

So no one has asked the most important question - what are you guys playing 😉

Probably Counterstrike, Quake III Arena, Unreal Tournament. You know: The regular stuff everyone has.

[Ignore me. I truly have no idea what people are playing these days]

Hell yeah.

Here yea are.

Anyone else miss LANs? No one does them around here... sort of depressing! I love LANing with friends.

HELL YES! My friends and I use to host several each year back in the early to mid 2000s. But as previously mentioned, high-speed Internet happened and really, really hurt the LAN scene.

The last we threw was two years ago and we had ~30 people show up. The ones we did in ~2005 had 75-100+ and our largest was almost 200 at a local arena/dome.

If anyone insists that gaming over the Internet is as much fun as a LAN in a large room, they obviously have never had a real LAN party. The atmosphere cannot be duplicated through Ventrilo.
