ORiNOCO USB 802.11b Adapters: Will We Ever See Linux Support?

Hi there...

The one thing that is holding me back from going over to Linux for everything except gaming is my ORiNOCO USB 802.11b Wireless Adapter, which I have been unable to find Linux drivers for. Does anyone have any inside information on when, or dare I say, if, we will see support for this hardware under Linux?

Thanks! 😀

I have no clue, but I'd say it'll eventually happen.

What you could try to speed up the process is to sign up to any relevant mailing lists (i.e. Linux USB related or orinoco_cs related) and politely ask about such support.

Explain that you're an end user, and would be happy to be a beta tester. Sooner or later, as the device becomes more popular, some hacker will bite. =)

Good luck to you.. I'm happily using the Orinoco PC card (with a PCI adapter) in my desktop.

if U really want the drivers, then U should write them yourself or start trying to get someone to do it.
