The topic was legit as were the replies. Did it just get caught up in bannings of the parody nef fest that resulted? Is there a way it can be unlocked because it seems to be the start of an interesting discussion.

Oh, and ban all parody threads.

I thought that one and the Japanese one were looking interesting. I had them mentally marked (in English) to look at later.

Why? It was a serious post.

The artery and vein formation is a very common problem for people who wear and sleep in contacts - my optomotrist gets on me about it all the time. Causes you to see little squiggly stuff when the vein formation is minimal. As vein formation progresses, your vision becomes more and more impaired.

EDIT: And when I said covered, I meant eye lids taped shut and those little cups placed over, not just "hold your hand over your eye".

Yeah I know it was a serious discussion, it's just unfortunate that there are some complete idiots in the world, a lot of which browse the internet just like you and me and, there's a chance that if they were to see that particular post they might just be stupid enough to try it out and then tell someone "oh I saw someone mention this on Anantech Forums so I'm trying it out", which then could cause Anandtech to be held responsible.

Now after reading that I personally think that is the most ridiculous theory on the planet, BUT it's possible :p

I'm still for "Over worked, over zealous, under paid, under appreciated moderators. " myself :p

That's silly. The mods see a bunch of threads that are obviously parodies (and bad ones at that) of another thread. Not knowing which thread is the original, and not having time to figure it out, they lock them all and say fuckit.

It's called neo-vascularisation and it can make you blind so I agree it was a serious post...

But however with the proliferation of parody threads that pop up around everything that gets posted I can see how the mods would have a hard time keeping everything straight.
