Original Crysis, 64-bit?

I just purchased the game through Steam. I'm running Vista-64bit, but I read there should be a "Bin64" folder in which you start the game through to run in 64bit mode. I don't have this folder.

I heard that Warhead did not include this, but shouldn't the original have?

It should, yes. I don't have the Steam version, but when I installed Crysis on Vista64, it placed the bin64 folder automatically. Installing it on XP32 didn't install the folder. Maybe something to do with Steam forcing 32bit?

What does it say for the bits with the "r_showinfo 1" command? (it might be "r_displayinfo 1" but I don't remember which)

r_displayinfo shows it is running the 32bit version. I found the bin32 folder but there is no bin64 folder =/

Wonder if I can download it somewhere? I'm going to try and install the 1.2 patch, even though Steam is supposed to patch for me, maybe it will add it /shrug

Well, can't even install the 1.2 patch. Get some general windows error 😵

This is lame, steam isn't updating it and the game says it's running 1.1 still

Hmm after a bit of googling, it seems that Steam doesn't support / offer the 64-bit versions. I have Crysis installed at home, so I can check and see how big the bin64 folder is, maybe I could send the folder or something if we can't find another solution.

Looks like the EA DD version comes with 64-bit http://www.incrysis.com/forums...topic.php?id=13137&p=1 so Steam limitation is definitely a possibility.

Yep, it's a Steam issue

I guess the general consensus is that it will come in a patch. Too bad Crytek doesn't give a rat's ass about their customers, and we all know how much EA loves us

Also, the Steam forums automatically parsed '64' out of my '64 bit' search. Bloody useless.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I can't use Vista due to my monitor having the incorrect EDID in it.

No, there isn't.

The good news is that the 1.2 patch was already released by Crytek, so I'm guessing this is more of a Valve issue than a Crytek/EA issue. They most likely have to re-package the most recent Crysis patch to work with whatever encrypted/compressed format they use with Steam. Considering they just added Crysis to Steam fairly recently, I don't really see why it just didn't come with the 1.2 patch already applied.
