Original Barton XP2500 - unlocked?

I'll find out next week when I get it...my furniture/stuff hasn't gotten here yet.

But I'm being proactive and asking now...no point in building the rig if it's "no good."

I have an unopened, original Barton XP2500. Is the multi unlocked on this chip? I plan on throwing into my new NF7-S/Corsair PC3200 board and letting it rip.

Just depends on the week, I believe it's pre week 39's or 38's that are unlocked.

Do you know what the production week for the chip? The majority of Bartons produced before Week 39, 2003, are factory unlocked.

Unless you're like me, and get a Week 32 Barton that's LOCKED after paying extra $$$ at a local computer shop.

I bought it from Newegg in....June, 2003. It was probably manufactured in May, right? That would make it around a Week 20?

A 210FSB will be a nice starting point, hopefully. (SLK900/92mm Panaflo fan)

AXDA2500KV4D 9507352260201 AQXDA0313MPMW

I guess mine is week 13 of 2003. Wow, she's an oldie but a goodie.

Oh, how do you deceipher the code again? I forgot. I.E. How did you get "week 13" out of that string?

If you got it around summer of last year, I'm 99.9% sure it was made pre-Week 39, and is therefore unlocked. If I recall correctly, Week 39+ chips started being available around November/December, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I'd be very happy with:

200MHz FSB
CPU speed 2.20GHz
512mb cache

I should see a nice boost from the XP2100 TBRed @ 200x10 I'm using now.
