Origin Registers Steam Keys

So after installing Origin for BF3, I found it let me register the following games that I purchase from Steam:

BFBC2
Medal of Honor
NF:Shift 2
Mass Effect 2

I think there was 1 more but can't remember the name.

Just thought that was interesting...

EA download used to give u limited amount of downloads on the games you bought. (reinstalls)

I think you were allowed like 3-5 unless u paid for an options which gave u unlimited downloads.

Does origin do the same?
Because Steam has no BS u can only install a X amount of times unless u buy an option rule....

Can anyone verify? Because if origin is like EA Download... id rather get the disks then get it though direct download.

I thought you needed Origin still to run games? I'm confused because of the talk that BF3 might come to Steam, but with the requirement that you still need Origin.

Would just be an added layer of drm. Like Arkham Asylum which uses GFWL. Or some of the UBIsoft games.

I don't really see an upside for having BF3 on Steam to be honest.

Pretty sure Origin is the back-end for the browser-fronted Battlelog system you use for multiplayer BF3. So you'll definitely need it.

Good point since you wouldn't be able to use it for joining your friends in game and I guess communications would be limited with them if they don't have it on Steam.

I noticed that playing BFBC2 through Origin allowed me to automatically login to my online soldier. That stopped working in Steam after some wayward update.
