I was signing up for AIM, and the username I wanted was taken... so was my second option, and third, and so on... and I decided I would be damned if I added cheesy numbers onto my name... So I decided I would make up a name using 6 characters... I typed up a list of like 10 random character combinations, and picked the one that had the best "ring" to it....

mine's the same story. except i just got mad and mashed the number keypad.

The Pink Floyd album Pulse was released and I used the name to sign up for my first ISP account. I've been using it ever since. I added the 8 because pulse is usually taken.

but, your real name, is in your profile....

uh huh....and?

I removed a few letters from my original AOL screenname. Your next question may be, what was that screenname, and how did you get it... well I'M NOT TELLING.

It's my real name. I don't know what my parents were thinking. I'd sure like to ask them if I only knew where to look.

I still remember them driving off in that VW Microbus with Hendrix playing on the radio after dropping me off at "Aunt Lucy's" house.
