Windows 8. I installed Origin and it gave me an error saying "Something went wrong during the installation. Please reinstall Origin"
About the most terrible error message I ever got, at least most others give you and error code of sorts.
Reinstalled, same thing. Uninstalling, removing all registry entries and using XP/vista/7 mode doesn't work either.

I googled first and plenty of others with same issue but I can't find a solution. Has anyone had this and solved it?

I ran into problems with installing and running Origin too. If you have Microsoft EMET installed, experiment with the system-wide ASLR setting set to "Application Opt-In" and see if that helps. In my case, Origin won't install or run without backing off my system ASLR (normally at Always On).

these are top secret projects that you won't find anything about online, if you don't believe me, google them ;)

Seriously though, any decent software today has installer log, check it out to see where installation has failed.

And where is that at cause there sure as heck isn't any log files in the programs folder. Searching Origin log came up empty....nvm, you said decent software, this is EA we're talking about.

Very strange, installed Origin on my Win8 with no issues, infact installed it yesterday on my clean install of Win8.1 RTM again with no issues, you could try removing Origin from your PC and then try another fresh install, wonder if something like a third party AV could be causing any issues?

I have no love for EA either, however been lucky I guess with Origin launcher.

the log will likely be in one of temporary files folder. you can search based on creation time and date
