Like everyone else with who has BF3,i have origin installed on my pc.

I noticed for the second day in a row when i popped open task manager at any random time,i saw the origin exe file just using anywhere from 29-33% of my cpu,and checking origin nothing is updating or running, just the client is at a stand still.

Anyone else experiencing this issue as well?

I haven't noticed that with origin, but I had a very similar problem with Steam when it first originated. I would close out Steam, and have 40% CPU usage. If I went into task manager, Steam was still running and using a lot of CPU. I had to close Steam manually from task manager to get it to actually close.

sorry to necro but this issue has pissed me off nearly a year now. I hardly ever use Origin because it will eventually start using about 1/3 of my cpu. this usually starts some time after it goes into offline mode either on its own out of the blue or when coming out of standby.

Wierd issue you ,I've just checked my Origin.exe which I use for ME3 MP and other games, its idling now between 0 and 0.6% out of gaming so very low on Win8.

I guess you could try uninstall of Origin and do a reboot followed by fresh install.

nothing will fix it and it will always come back. sometimes it takes several days but it will always eventually start using the exact same range of cpu usage which for me is 32-37%. again what triggers it seems to be when it tries to come back online from being in offline mode for whatever reason. to be clear I have never put it in offline mode and it does that on its own sometimes when coming out of standby.

Oh yeah, been having that offline issue non stop as well, sometimes its relentless and a reboot is the only way to fix it.

But seems the cpu usage issue for me has disappeared then again perhaps the latest version fixed some issues and brought on new ones?

I feel once you install your games using origin,it just becomes so freaking useless and its dead weight on your pc but hell i feel the same damn way about steam as well.

How the hell do you turn these pop-ups off? I'm sick of origin ad spamming for BF3 Premium when I already own it.

No problems personally, I tend to keep Origin open for BF3 and can't say I've noticed anything of the sort.

It does this when offline. It will go offline if you sleep your PC, and unlike steam, will not automatically reconnect.

Either manually go online with it or close that pos entirely except when playing BF3

Hate those pop ups but what i hate the most was what i saw at walmart last night in the game section.....Battlefield 3 premium edition for $60.:awe:

Full freaking game, plus the premium membership and all maps, simply rubbed me the wrong way cause i was one of those poor souls picking up my Limited Edition copy at midnight on october 25th at Best Buy and on top of it i preordered it...

I can understand that perhaps the LE perhaps is now discounted and stuff but wow i feel shafted.

I haven't had those problems with Origin. I prefer Steam, but I've actually be quite surprised at how well Origin runs. It is far less bloated than Steam. It loads up and first thing I see is my game tab and games. It doesn't try to sell me anything until I click on the Store tab and it's very minimalist. Steam takes 3X longer to load. Steam is still my platform of choice, but I don't mind using Origin just for EA stuff.

Of course out of the box it goes to the store tab by default but that's easily fixed in the settings.

If you already own BF3 the premium edition upgrade is $49.99. It's actually not a bad deal if you don't have any of the expansions because buying all the DLC seperately is more expensive than what you would pay to upgrade to premium.

Like you I had the LE but the upgrade to premium was worth it.
