Question Orientation of USB 3.1 Type C Gen2 cable

Hi, I need to connect a usb cable from the case front panel to the motherboard. Does the orientation of the cable connector matter? It seems that the holes in the USB 3.1 Type C Gen2 port on the motherboard are not symmetrical but I cannot tell the orientation of the cable from the case front panel.

If that diagram is realistic, then the connector has a corner cut off, which should mean that it can only be fitted in one orientation.

Thanks. I did not notice the cut off corner. Maybe too small for me to see. I want to unplug it to check again but it is difficult to unplug it. Shall I just take the chance?

Yes, just wiggle it until it becomes loose. For some reason those USB FP connectors usually are a tight fit and the way they set up the cord is just not very convenient.
