organizing music files on mp3 player

I recently acquired my first mp3 player; it's a Creative MuVO. I have very limited experience transferring music from PC to mp3 player. But, I've observed, so far, that even though I have music organized by folders in Windows Media Player or the Creative MediaSource Organizer software that came with the mp3 player, the music seems to be all thrown into the same basket on the mp3 player. In other words, I can not select a specific album/folder on the mp3 player; all songs appear as though they are all, again, in the same basket.

Should I be able to carry folder/album identification over to the mp3 player and select specific albums on it, or is the all-in-one basket the only way it works?

I myself have a Creative Zen micro. If the information about the album is contained within the MP3 file itself, the Zen Micro has an option to play all the songs of a certain album.
Does the MuVO have a similar option?

I think they are called ID3 tags
