TLDR:
Where can I get THOUSANDS of small, super-cheap, easily-removable, stickers (like thousands of tiny Post-It Note dots)?
I have a huge collection of classic and modern games from Atari, Nintendo, Sega, Sony, and MUCH more with many software and hardware dupes. Dupes are becoming a problem. Heck, I have an entire wall of PC games alone. Throw in the smaller but sizable 3DO, CD-i, Turbo-Grafix, etc collections and there is quite a lot to catalog. I never know what I have and what I don't have, or what I can trade. Dupes are becoming a huge problem.
There's so much I honestly don't know where to start. It will take months and the dupes are in so many places that I can see a HUGE problem: I won't know if a particular copy is a dupe or the one that I cataloged months earlier unless I indicate it somehow. I have two options:
Rent storage and take EVERYTHING out of every storage area and catalog/organize it as it comes back in so that everything is indicated by location...
or
...indicate each and every piece that has been cataloged with some kind of sticker or label. I mean EACH AND EVERY PIECE. For example, the game gets a sticker, the box gets a sticker, a loose manual will get a sticker, etc.
I don't like the first option because renting storage is expensive, I don't have a truck, storage could be rough on some pieces of the collection, there won't be a clear picture how much storage is needed for each category until it's all done, and it will add time/expense pressures (I have other priorities). For the second one I can move things between areas I already have and can get a general picture before I start spending money on shelves and such. I will need thousands of cheap lightly adhesive sticker dots that will not damage paper manuals or boxes. Something kinda like Post-It note adhesive. Any suggestions? I'll probably indicate controller cords with a tag on the cord itself.
I need to organize loose/spare/salvaged parts and such as well.
