Therein lies the problem. Once you're dead, the organs are worthless for transplantation. They have to be "harvested" (actual term they use for cutting the organs out of your body) while the heart is still beating, before you're dead.

Uhh... I'm 100% sure that's wrong.

If my organs will help someone live then by all means take them. Why should I keep them if I can no longer use them?

Exactly.

If my eyes, heart, liver, kidneys, brain, fingers, toes, whatever helps some else out then I'm all for it.
I agree. I want anything that can be donated to be donated. I want to help people out, even in death.

I totally agree.

Really? And you're 100% sure... how? Just because you don't believe it?

Sorry, but it's not wrong, it's the truth. I suggest you look into it and educate yourself before you just call me wrong.

The heart is still beating when they cut out the organs. If blood flow to the organs stop, the tissue begins to die. This can make the organ useless.

Usually the brain is dead at that point, so keeping their heart beating is only to save the organs.

Hell, by the time that crap happens to me my organs will be in such a shape they would kill the person they'd want to plant them into b/c of all the intoxication and the like and b/c I'm such a bitter one.
