I see that big words are frightening to you. I'd like to engage you further in this conversation, but I am about to eat a freshly slaughtered free range organic hot dog for lunch.

I prefer free range, organic, boneless chicken.

Sugar? Cocoa? Leavening? Cornstarch? Chocolate? Salt? These are all cheap versions of what? Or they were going to be thrown away? In fact, I think the only thing on that list used as a cheap alternative is vanillin. If they used real vanilla the price of Oreos would probably double. Even high oleic oil isn't that bad. It's a healthier alternative to trans-fat.

Sorry I misreprestented myself there.

Let me put it this way, if they found out tomorrow that ash from coal powered power stations resembled flour closely enough that most people wouldn't notice they would call it flourin and tell the wheat farmers they didn't require their services anymore.

I buy the off-brand kind: $1.79 for what the Oreo once was before they shrank it :p
Oh..$3 and the package is 2/3 size?
I ain't the one. :p
Still has lard n sugar in the middle and chocolate.

I just looked up the anal-bleaching thing.
The bottom pic is not "normal" there's been many thick somethings up in there.

Can't say I enjoy Oreos. The middle "cream" is particularly awful and the cookies themselves are rather dry. It is like they took two pieces of drywall and then slapped some sugar infused Spackle between them.

Yeah they are pretty shit... until you dip them in milk then they become amazing!

I tried some a while ago, very very tasty, not healthy though but its one of these things ya gotta try once!

Like Cheerios, Oreo is one of those products with a special flavor that off-brands are not able to duplicate. Not even close.

hydrox is the original, oreo is national biscuit's imitation.

I've had plenty of Hydrox as a kid. They aren't nearly as good as Oreo. Nabisco has done something special with Oreo that the competition has been unable to duplicate.

So, kind of like Apple and the iPhone. They sure didn't invent smart phones, touch screen, and such, but there ain't nobody who says smart phones were better before it.
