The Oregon Legislature last considered such a measure 14 years ago according to the office of Rep. Randy Miller, R-West Linn, the bill's sponsor.

A spokesman for Gov. Ted Kulongoski said the governor does not favor the bill because it would cost jobs.

Cost jobs? Jeez... I would rather pump my own gas than be served by some jackass who doesn't care about spilling gas all over the fvcking place and can't find the goddamn gas cap after he's managed to shoot a dollar's worth of gas down the side of my car. :|

Those oregonians need to striaghten out their school finances before they worry about self serve versus full service. 🙂

No, but we do still pay state taxes out of our paychecks. I get a paycheck for $850 and get about $630 from it (includes taking money out for health insurance, etc).

We have 8.25% sales tax which they want to increase to 10%, we've got city and state taxes. They just raised our property taxes. They are raising public transporation fares but decreasing routes, cutting back on police/fire/education. And we have to pump our own gas unless you want to pay a premium...
 
I guess I could never imagine having somebody pump my gas for me...

I always round to the nearest dollar or 50 cent range... i'm weird I guess.
