So you just gave me a list of guys you don't want, and guys who probably wouldn't make a good fit here. Until there's a clear cut choice for the position I can't find myself convinced that we'd be better off without him.

The problem is that KD has been under the shadows of two of the finest coaches in college today...Pete Carroll from across town and Ben Howland on the other side, prompting the bloggers to make comparisons and calling for KD's head.

It's impossible to deny that injuries have been a major problem this year, look at how Oregon's done when just one guy was removed from the equation. We were always a team with average talent, and so far we've played an average year. With talen we've seen what this team could do, a la 2005 w/ a miracle 11-2 season. Last year was supposed to be a complete rebuilding year with no one expecting us to do anything, but even so, we managed to be bowl eligible and had some major wins (e.g. USC). There was hardly any talent last year--and with all the average players coming back, save a Bruce Davis let's say, we again had an average season.

Some say we were underachieving, I say we fit right where we belong--with a chance at the Rose Bowl icoming into the last week of the season. If you want a case of underachieving however, look no further than around the Pac-10, with USC's loss to Stanford at home this year, and Cal's hell hole of a season. Those are teams with championship talent, and have certainly not played the part so far this year..

Osaar Rasshan, as we saw yesterday is not ready to be a QB and probably will not be the future to our team. He only had that one good appearance in relief because no team had ever seen him play before and had no idea what to expect. Against ASU and Oregon he was crap. He certainly was not ready to be prompted as a replacement to either Ben or Patrick--again as evidenced as to how our offense played with Ben in yesterday. I don't see how you can argue that Ben was the wrong choice here, our offense finally came to life with him in, and we were lead to victory.

Next year hopefully with a healthy lineup, and the #4 ranked recruiting class coming in, KD should be given a chance to see what he can do with a talented squad again. The main knock against KD over the years that I can't argue with is that he hasn't brought in the players, as Mojo and Marcades and Drew Olson even were not recruited by him, but with a great class coming in (one that's higher ranked that even USC's), it'll be interesting to see what he can do with them. The players like him, they want to play for him, have expressed as much, and when it counts have performed as much.

We'd split it w/ ASU, but ASU beat us so they'd get the nod for the Rose Bowl. I certainly wouldn't complain about it :)

Though it says here.. http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=273280026

Should UCLA upset USC and Arizona top No. 7 Arizona State the same day, the Bruins (6-5, 5-3) would get the Rose Bowl bid

Anyone know why this is? Is the tiebreaker not based on the head to head matchup?

Crazy how the best conference in the country (sorry SEC) could have the worst BCS bowl team this year.

Haha, a team that lost to ND going to the Rose Bowl would be crazy.
