I will be ordering software for a small architectural firm that will be starting up soon.

Recently, I spoke with a representative of a software vendor company to obtain some price quotes on some products like Adobe Photoshop ($630.00), Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0 ($430.00), Microsoft Office 2003 ($430.00), QuickBook Pro 2006 ($179.00). Since it is an architectural firm, it definately requires AutoCAD; at the moment, we need 3 of them for 3 people. The software company I spoke with gave a price quote on a single AutoCAD 2007 Network License, which was $3,995.00 per license (3 x $3,995.00 = $11,985), as well as an AutoCAD Subscription, which was $420.00 (3 x $420.00 = $1,260.00).

I have never ordered AutoCAD licenses before. I would like to get advice or recommendations on these prices. Any advice or suggestions would be great.

Office and possibly others can be at least $100 cheaper if purchases with the desktops they will run on.

If buying Dell Small Business, add them on when configuring the machines. If building custom machines order them at the same time as you buy the parts from Newegg (or other parts company).

No idea on AutoCAD though. Check CDW.com, Newegg.com, Buy.com and perhaps Google (though many Google results will be for pirate / counterfeit versions).
