Ordering Perscription Glasses online

So I'm due for a new pair of glasses. I'm looking online and see that there are sites for ordering perscription glasses online (http://www.zennioptical.com/). The price is soooo cheap. I usually pay around 200 or more for a pair of glasses, and they are not even high end. You can get a set of Titanium frames and polycarb lenses for 50 - 60 bucks with free shipping. Anybody ever did this before?
 
I just did for the first time this year. I bought three pairs from Zenni (for me, my wife and my son) and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality for the price. I will be buying from them again. The only catch is don't expect them real soon - it can take a few weeks before you get them.
 
Got a pair from zenni ~2 years ago. Work well, until i broke the bridge cleaning them about 2 weeks ago. Not bad for $40. This time i went with a online store in NJ ( chinese frames, lenses ground here ) for $80. Quality was much higher and order->delivery was just over a week.

NOT SURPRISED. I know most of the frames you buy at lens crafters and/or america's best are made in china anyway. It is no surprise to me your getting the same exact thing and paying much less....
 
I've personally ordered from www.coastal.com and from www.goggles4u.com

goggles4u is great for cheap throwaway pairs. I got 3 pairs (2 regular, 1 sunglasses) for just about $35 total with all the coatings and whatnot. They look fine and work great, and you don't need to worry about breaking them 🙂

The one I ordered from Coastal was for my wife who needs progressive lenses. It cost about $150 (got transition lenses too), but it is top notch quality and their customer service is fantastic (they sent out a brand new pair because some cloudiness on the lens developed in a small area).
 
My optometrist (lol sp? fancy word for contact lens doctor) instructed me to buy contacts online. He says he makes no money on them anymore and the extra hassle of another appt to come in to pick them up is bs to him. He gave me the exact company and brand/line, along with all the parameters I needed. http://www.contactsamerica.com
I wear monthly/semi-monthly torics. Cost was roughly $60 for 6 months - 1 year supply, that is 6 lenses for each eye for a total of 12 lenses for the same $60 (I typically make mine last 2 months.)

As for glasses - I used http://justeyewear.com - Had a pair made based on my contact script + a half (minus) power on the diopter. They are only to get around the house to find my contacts. My retarded ass vision insurance won't pay outright for a backup pair of glasses, or for my eye doc to supply a spectacles prescription (which is markedly different than your contact script btw). He might be pulling my leg but says that a full exam is needed for him to dispense the glasses script. He did tell me to increase by negative half a power my contact script and it'll be good enough to drive and not bang into shit.

BTW I used the return policy - it turns out the InterPupilary distance measurement is CRITICAL! They remade them for me and the lady at the front in my eye doc office measured my IPD.
 
I use 39dollarglasses.com a lot for prescription glasses and sunglasses. A bit limited on selection, but I go for quantity since I'm pretty hard on glasses.

I'm another fan of zenni. I've lost count of how many pairs my family has gotten from there. I don't have any issue with quality - I don't think the quality of my current frames (memory titanium) is any less than the quality of those I could buy for $300 for the frames.
