Ordering new monitor....but from where?

Hey guys,

I've decided I'm going to get the 19" NEC 930SB for around $300 at most places.

My only problem is deciding from where I should order. My first thought was of course Newegg, but I hear their return policy on monitors is bad (you have to deal with the manufacturer only).
So I'm turning to you guys. What REPUTABLE online dealer would you recommend for buying monitors through? Preferably one with a good return policy in case of a dead unit?
My first thought was Dell, because I saw the reviews here of people buying from Dell.com, and just last week they had a great deal on that monitor. But now, the deal is over and its a good $30 or so more than Newegg is asking shipped.

So if anyone can recommend the best place to get this monitor, or whetherI should just stick with Newegg, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks! 🙂

Hmmm....what do you guys think about Amazon.com for monitors? With free shipping, it would be about $20 cheaper than Newegg.

its the same monitor no matter where it comes from, Amazon is a good place and 20$ is a good amount to be cheaper

Yes, but my point is which dealer has the best return policy, support, and reputation out there (in everyone's personal opinion).

And I'm considering monitorsdirect as well....but it's about $25 more expensive there as well (gotta hate that $40 shipping charge🙁)

Dell will have the special again in a few days trust me. It runs 50% of the time each month. I would just wait a few days for them.

The only down side to ordering CRT's mail order is that the shipping cost is high - they are big and heavy. Then if you have to make returns, it is a hassle. I returned a Viewsonic in the early 90's some 4 or 5 times due to geometry problems or picture issue and got sick of packing it off.

I purchased a 17" Samsung flat CRT and had to return it several times due to geometry issues also, but I bought that one locally at BB. I tried one of their 19" CRT's last spring but after 3 returns to BB, I gave up - this one had "stuck pixels" (ie holes that weren't punched out of the shadow mask). I guess I have bad luck with monitors so I started buying locally to avoid the shipping. It's hassle enough when you have to haul those heavy beasts in your car and drive them back and forth!
