Whenever I order flowers I search online for a local flower shop to whomever I am sending and just call them right up!

I've used GreatFlowers.com, works great, you can order up to like a few weeks in advance. They're very good about delivery as well, although their prices are kinda steep sometimes.

I've used most of them.. I'd go down to the local shop, but then I'm lazy.

FTD uses local shops to arrange and deliver flowers, and they require the shop meet certain standards so you're assured of quality.
I've ordered from 1800flowers.com a few times as well as ftd.com, and FTD always seems to come out a bit ahead in quality.

Ordered a dozen yellow roses last month for my g/f and they were WAY better than the picture.

Great thing is, FTD's in-house service (i.e. flowers that have to be fed-ex'd) is excellent too. Just today, my g/f received a vase of orchids from me, and they are BEAUTIFUL and packaged nicely.

Thing is with fed-ex delivery for any flowers you gotta order a couple days in advance, but if you use FTD online with a local florist, you get SAME DAY delivery if you order by 2PM. Not a bad deal.

Yes he did that for our first wedding anniversary and the flowers were beautiful and he paid hardly anything for them, compared to many online sites! :)

We also sent flowers to his mother the same way...hers were beautiful and very inexpensive....

It could just be a run of bad luck, but my last 3 experiences with FTD have been bad. I mean...if I wanted wilted flowers I would buy the bouquets that they sell at the grocery store.

However, I've never had a bad experience with Proflowers.com. The only drawback is that they deliver via FedEx so they're delivery days are somewhat limited. (i.e. no weekends etc.)

I have ordered flowers online a few times, but found that the quality varied from time to time. The reason is that the online companies have deals with various flowers shops and refer the purchase to the closes shop to the client to prepare & deliver them.

It is best to go to or call your reputable local flower shop and have them prepare a bouquet for delivery. It may also helps to ask your female coworkers for a suggestion.
