It is. It really is.

It's convenient, you don't even have to leave your chair. You generally save a little because it's cheaper than retail stores. Unless you're in that god forsaken state of Calipornia, you usually pay no sales tax. It's awesome.

But then after you finish patting yourself on the back for scoring that good deal or whatnot, you realize...

... you gotta WAIT for it to get to you.

Other problem is if anything goes wrong you don't have a physical store to return to. I agree though; it is extremely convenient, and for the most part, cheaper.

The free Amazon Prime for students has changed my life this past year. Although, I highly doubt I'll pay $75 to sign up again once my free year goes away.

I've spent over $1000 on Amazon because of the free Prime. It would be in their interest to give it to me again.

Amazon = no tax in CA.

Amazon is in a helluva fight with the state of Texas right now. They haven't ever charged tax on sales in Texas, yet they have had a distribution warehouse in the state for some time.

Texas is claiming they owe $250mil in back sales taxes:$

Live in CA, the only places that charge me tax are in state places, which would only be Newegg & M-Wave for me. But I'd rather live in CA and pay tax from Newegg than live in any of the other 49 states.

I don't pay taxes when i use Amazon. Then again, I'm "stealing."

'so-K though, b/c CA rapes me every year in all the other taxes anyway. Maybe if my taxes stop going to welfare for Utah, Idaho, Kansas, South Carolina and all the other inbred god-fearing states, I'd be happy to pay more sales taxes.

:hmm:

IIRC, CA was strongarming Amazon about this within the last year, as well.
