Ordering CPU from newegg, good choice?

Warranty:

* OEM CPUs carry a limited 30 day warranty.
* Retail CPUs carry a 3 year manufacturer warranty and must be serviced by the original manufacturer.
* Newegg.com will not cross-ship CPUs.
* All defective and DOA CPUs will be replaced upon return to Newegg.com.

Refund:

* CPUs can only be refunded within 7 days of the invoice date. All CPUs returned for refunds must be postmarked within 7 days of the invoice date, no exceptions.
* All refunds, including defective and DOA CPUs, will be charged a 15% restocking fee.

Physical damage to any item voids that product's warranty. Improper clocking or installation of CPU fans may cause CPUs to chip and/or burn. CPUs that are chipped, burnt or have bent pins are considered physically damaged and will not be replaced/refunded. This may include but is not limited to improper handling and/or any kind of physical damage not caused by normal usage. Bent pins are a common occurrence on physically damaged processors. Forcing the CPU into place will rarely solve the problem and may result in your warranty being voided. Because AMD and Intel do not accept physically damaged processors from Newegg.com, Newegg.com will return any physically damaged CPU to the customer at the customer's expense.

What does DOA stand for?

If I read it right, if my CPU was damaged in any way and it wasn't my fault, newegg won't do sht to help me? I mean, "15% restocking fee"... they are actually going to restock something that doesn't work?

Do other stores have this kind of crazy police? Like ZZF or Monarch?

No no, they will refund you, what they are saying if YOU damage, like say it comes fine to your house, and you decide to overclock it and it dies, THEN they wont refund it but if you didnt overclock it and it doesnt work right at stock, then they will refund it for you, this is just one example. Ya I hate that bs ''15% restocking fee'' too :p but what can you do. Remember, newegg is the best rated online retailer, so I'm sure they won't screw you over :)

Also DOA = dead on arrival

I ordered 20 crap online from www.ncix.com for my FIRST build and I praise Allah everyday none came DOA :p

DOA = Dead On Arrival

If the item is dead, and you want to return it and get the exact same model, there is no retocking fees.

If you want to return it and just get a refund or a different model, you will pay a 15% restocking fee.

Yes, all retailers have very similiar rules.

newgg is probably one of the only places I would feel safe with buying a cpu online, go for it
