Way to attack people that are trying to help you when you have no idea what the product is they're suggesting.

That's OK, just continue to be ignorant.

But this doesn't.

The 17" is included in the $380...if you don't want it simply sell it locally after you get it?

dell outlet FTW!

a lot of times they'll say the monitor is 'free' and give you no credit if you don't order one.

Sorry, but after that statement he made earlier, it's hard not to think he paid somebody to build his system or bought it pre-built.

I'd sell the monitor, that would make the cost of the actual computer be lower for you.

LoL. That made me laugh. A good computer doesn't mean you have computer smarts...

I?m at a loss here I have no idea how you people somehow related my rents being computer noobs with me knowing nothing about computers, I know just as much as many of you here, and yes I built my own computer and know very well how to do it, FWIW I?ve actually built every computer I?ve owned, Yes I could build them another one however its actually cheaper to just buy a 300$ dell

I asked a simple question and get 15 posts of pure sh!t, no wonder I stopped posting here so much

I agree with the other posters here, you should pick up a PowerEdge server for cheap. They usually have XP Pro or Server 2003 (which basically is Pro, with added features, just gotta install DirectX and a few other things), and work just like a regular system.

If you know so much about computers, then you would know a Dell Poweredge server does not need any special instructions, and is just called that due to the case and options you can configure it with.

But since you wanted to be a smartass to people that were helping you, what did you expect?

More like you got 15 solid suggestions. I still think you should just get it with the monitor, then sell it. FYI s/h is only $30, so you're looking at $400 for the whole thing to your doorstep (maybe some tax), sell the monitor locally for about $50-$80 since it's brand new, drops the price of the system down to around $320-$340. Problem is?

He didn't even take the time to checkout the PowerEdge servers before turning down that suggesting and making an erroneous statement about them, you really think he'll take the time to sell the monitor locally?

We have a Dell PowerEdge at work and it's a giant, loud, rackmount server.

I know that there are PowerEdges that come in regular tower cases, but maybe the OP didn't know that. Not everyone is familiar with Dell's various models and names.
