Ordered the 6800GT from newegg

yes it is the evga. i cant justify another $200 for the ultra if i can overclock it to ultra speeds 🙂

Say it with me folks: "If we continue to buy these cards at gouge prices, they will never have a reason to come down."

Damn, its going to take forever for these to become normally priced.

This is the sad truth. However WE are the minority of market, so.... WE still have a change 😀

Newegg isn't actually gouging. The price of their eVGA GT is $409, the MSRP is $399 and shipping (fedex saver) is included from Newegg. The OP paid for 2nd day shipping and state tax.

I have the evga card.

you spent your money wisely. Now go play some games and stop worrying about it.

the eVGA is great. I double most of my benchmark scores from my old 9800p. I can overclock it to Ultra speeds easily too.

It overclocks to Ultra speeds. Most of them do anyway. I only seen one PNY GT here not make the cut.

Holy Crap! Newegg rocks! I ordered my GT from them at 2ish PM EST today and I already have a tracking number. They got the package picked up before 4PM. That is awesome. Props to the Egg

I see. Does it have the best cooling solution tho? or is it just the only one u have significant info on?

I'm about as cheap as they come but please explain how they are gouging when everyone thinks a 9800pro @$200 is a smoking deal while a card which doubles performance @ $400 is a ripoff? It fits exactly the price/performance mold. If something is twice as fast you should pay twice as much. This is a basic price/performance curve.

Very true. The only thing is they are comparing what they get to the rest of their system components' costs.

I ordered the same card yesterday with overnight shipping. Should be here in a few hours. I'll be sure to post some benchmarks from my A64 3200+ system (with 333mhz RAM - damn you chaintech).

The cooling solution is the same one that BFG uses. Not to mention the cooling solution is smaller than that of a 6800Ultra. So it it silent.

The cooling solution of the 6800gt most definitely isnt silent I dont know why you said that. For those coming from a 9800pro the 6800gt's cooling is in fact darn loud.

Well it's not like they were at the back of the top shelf in the far corner of the warehouse... 🙂 They probably barely made it the shelf before they were shipped out.

Does it have 2 dvi ports ? the desc. says 2 - dvi to analog converters, but the pics show 1 dvi & 1 analog.

Jose

I can understand the 2nd day shipping increasing the cost in this particular case. However, here is a link for you.

Here.

Tell me what you think. Keep in mind that you and I are different people with our own views of what is gouging and what is not. So please don't try to convince me otherwise. Thats not what I am asking you for here. When you click on the link, tell me how it makes you feel. ( I don't mean emotionally, LOL).
