Just ordered a Addtronics 7890A case - because my AOpen HX08 is not big enough anymore.....7 x 5,25" external bays is nice, and thats the reason why I didn't order a 7896A instead.

1: Pioneer DVD
2: Afreey 56X CD-ROM
3: Plextor Plexwriter 12/10/32A
4: Mitsumi CR-4804TE, oh good old mitsumi......you still work great.
5: Place for a removeable HDD (One drive with MP3, one with DVD and one with Drivers/programs/patches for games)
6: Removeable boot HDD (One drive with Win2K pro, one with WinME and one with Linux)
7: Creative Live! drive IR (included with SB Live Platinum 5.1)

And of course a FDD in the 3,5" bay.

Inside there will be (at least until my next upgrade):

Abit BE6-2 mainboard (My first and last abit board, after all my problems abit is on my worst mainboard-manufacturer list).
P3 450 @ 600MHz
512Mb PC133 INFINEON CAS2 SDRAM
20Gb HDD to share files between the different OS-HDDs
Hercules GF2 32MB AGP
SB Live! Platinum 5.1
3Com 3C905C network adapter
Dynalink TAS106H PCI ISDN adapter(made by asustek)

And a load of papst fans (low-noise fans, some 19db, but most 12db)

And I went for the best and ordered a Enermax EG651PVE 550Watt PSU - not that I need all those watts.....a 300Watt PSU should be enough....but I ordered the best and most powerfull PSU, ATX 2.03 of course.

What is others thoughts??

This costs me nearly $500.......nearly the price of a complete low-end computer.....

And your processor is still a bit slow. Otherwise, nice goods! Btw -- get an ASUS-133 Slotket and a retail 700E and a gorb -- you'll hit 1000mhz more than likely. Retail though.

I just got the 7980 also,it is the nicest case I've ever had.I got the casters as well.I got mine with the 300w p/s(antec)from wiredzone.com for $109+$21 shipping=$130. I dont know what you bought for $500,surely its more than the case and p/s.With ten fans in the case,it sounds like you have walked into a 'computer room'.I did wire a fan bus,and put a light inside, along with four harddrives,cdr,cd-rom.This case is hughe. You will want the wheels if you lift it a few times. Also go to addtronics.com and ask for a case sticker, they sent me two.(thats where I got the casters)

While we are into it....

I'll wait some months and then upgrade to a DDR system with a 1,2GHz+ CPU (Time will show if it's a AMD or Intel CPU, it will be the one with the best Price/performance/overclocking potential..) And then I'll move the Abit board back in the HX08 case and have two computers.. ;)

And after this upgrade I hope to be able to wait for new technologies for the next huge upgrade (2GHz+ ??, QDR RAM??, serial ATA, USB 2.0 and????), and only do minor upgrades (Videocard, HDD, more memory on such).

BTW: My monitor is a kickass Iiyama Vision Master PRO 450 19", I could have gotten a Sony 21" for the same price but there was some things holding me back:
-It was demonstration used (at least they said, but in fact it was a unsatisfied user that had returned it)
-21" is to big for me.
-It was not flat, like the Iiyama.

Edit: yeah of course I got a set of luxory casters for it, did you think I should carry it around??? It's a heavy beast, especially with all the stuff I should have inside it.

I bought it here in Norway (www.microplex.no) where Computer stuff is actually 10% or more over the US prices.

Case $110
PSU $175
and some fans, casters, some thumbscrews......
