I'm in the U.S. and I just ordered a monitor from germany.

will it work in a u.s. outlet with a computer ac power cord?

Under what circumstances would it not work?

i downloaded a PDF of the manual in English from BenQ's australian website, and it said the power requirements necessary will vary from country to country, but then under specs it also says 90-264 VAC input.

depends on if the AC/DC converter is rated for 110/220 operation. most are
Germany uses a different plug so you may need an adapter for that

Can I use a regular computer power cord if it plugs into the monitor and if the monitor's power supply works at 110VAC?

Thanks:)

read my edit
Germany DOES use a different plug - at least on the wall end, and i would be totally guessing about the power supply question.

when i got my catleaps from SK the power brick is external and you can plug anything into that and it does the conversion

which monitor BTW

You'll be fine. You just need the proper plug to fit your outlets.

Modern switching electronics have made international power standards much less of a barrier than they used to be.

An intelligent person would have asked these questions BEFORE ordering the monitor...

>95% it:

A. Uses standard IEC plug
B. accepts 100-250V AC input

if true, no problem.

Okay thanks guys. I decided to cancel it though because i thought about the color gamut of 72% and i want to wait for something that's at least 83%... that is a shame because I read a review of it and it looked like I could run it at any input rate as long as it was within the pixel clock.

Yes it was alb systems for the record. There will be some Asus panels coming out, they probably won't have higher color gamut though.

Seriously most electronic equipment today takes 120V-250V and can be used in the US or EU..including the BenQ monitor I have right now. Since all the **** is made in China anyway they don't manufacture specific "EU" parts or "US" parts anymore, 99% it's just a matter of having the right chord. (And some OLDER PSU's with a little switch where you can manually switch between 120V and 250V)
