I can't call them becuse it's Sunday, but does anyone here know if they will price protect my order and give me back 81 dollars! Or I'm I screwed... :frown:

Just call them and tell them about it.
Most places will allow you to have the difference. Or simply figure out what happens if you decline the delivery and buy it again (restocking fee Vs $80 you'd save)

I had the same thing happen, but only $40 difference on my 4400, after 4 days, from newegg, I just accepted the fact I bought it and agreed on the price shown when I clicked on "Check Out".
Not dissapointed, either way, but that's twice what mine was... Good Luck.

Thats life :(.....well life in the IT world anyway. The price cut mayaswell happen straight away...if you didnt get it than, it would've only been a matter of days,weeks...months if your lucky. Then again...the price cut happening so soon after you bought it means the next one will be sooner

Id just giv em a call and see what they say. You may get lucky...i know id be annoyed if that happened to me. Its happened before...but like i said, thats how it is :(

I'd call them and see if you can get the price difference refunded. If not, cancel your order and refuse shipment if they do get it shipped out Monday.

You have the right also to return items within some days, specially if you don't open it.

Use your consumer right.

It's teh insanity of ordering computer parts.

I got my 3400+ on sale but then a couple or three weeks later, the prices changed. The 3700+ became cheaper than the 3400+. Not much of a difference in performance but still, I didn't like it.

I kind of feel like ordering a 3700+ now so I can build a computer when I move but I have to wait and see how much I can pay off my credit card before I do that...duh.

Thats why I never look up the price of hardware I just bought for at least one month. Seeing it drop after 1 month doesnt hurt as much as seeing it after 1 day. ;)

OEM processors, retail box processors, video cards and memory

OEM processors, retail box processors, video cards and memory may be returned but only if: (1) unopened, unused and in new condition; and, (2) returned within 5 days of delivery, including weekends and holidays. Returns on such items will receive store credit at current market value as determined solely by Monarch Computer Systems as of the date of receipt not to exceed the original purchase price and subject to a 15% restocking fee.

This happened to my dad several months ago, AMD dropped prices on all their chips pretty substantially and he had just bought the chip from Newegg i believe, and he just wrote them an email about the price drop and how he wasn't expecting such a substantial price drop and if there was any way he could get comped for it. They paid him the difference and he was a happy customer. Should work if it's a decent enough company.

hey that's nothing

I willingly and gladly paid $219 for a 3000+ Venice E3 locally about two months ago when E3s were at Newegg for ~$150 and E6s at eWiz for $113!

I wouldn't refuse the shipment........ you did agree to the price. I would contact Monarch and explain your situation and see what happens. Either way you are getting what you paid for which is an excellent cpu.

Nope, they were very quick to say no. They didn't really listen to me, as soon as they knew where my story was going, I could tell they stopped listening. Oh well, it's a piss off, that's for sure. I understand that PC parts drop all the time. But I really think with only 40 hours passing and a price drop of 30%, they should have honoured the new price. I really believe most places would price protect. It's not like a week had passed, only Saturday. Anyways, it's my first & last purchase from Monach...

Why not return it? Sounds like their policy allows it as long as you don't open it.

I would, but there's a 15% restocking fee. So that's 46.50 + 18.00 Shipping = 64.50. Now add 18.00 dollars to ship my second purchase at the new price, and it comes to 82.50. It's just not worth it...
