Newegg can claim all they like, it's up to the drivers discretion to leave a package at the front door or not as long as no signature was required.

If he felt the neighborhood was safe and the package would not be tampered with, once he drops the package off, their liability ends there.

I have no clue why AT hates UPS so much, they are every bit as reliable as Fedex nationwide.

That in there lies the issue. They should never assume that a package will be safe alone on the front door step. It should be no signature, all liability. Signature, limited liability as long as they can prove with whom they left the package (i.e street address, phone and name of person left with)

In my situation, I did sign a form saying they didn't need a signature so that's why I was screwed. My neighborhood is pretty safe with regards to packages. The only time I had trouble was because it was delivered at the wrong time and day (when there was contractors working next door).

Check with your neighbors. I often get mail/packages from my neighbors and they get stuff of mine. Just ask them if a package was accidently dropped off at the wrong house, they may have not gotten around to dropping it off to you yet.

I always send my shit to work. We know the UPS and FedEx delivery people. Never had a missing package. Now stuff sent thru USPS is a different story. I've had a number of items stolen after they've been delivered to my house, behind the metal gate. Assholes, I hope they get super AIDS.

I don't think I'll raise the same stink that the guy with the BMW ebay auction recently did, but I'll update this post with the resolution, probably later this week if the 3-5 day timeframe is to be believed.

Yep, he doesn't even have to deliver it to the right house :disgust:. I just received a package from my neighbor, my address is unit 4 on 400. his is unit 4 on 402 which is about 10 yards down the road. So what does the UPS guy do "Humm 400, not far off from 402, looks safe, Delivered."

Thats retarded, And then he has the right to say "well, I delivered it" When in fact he left it at someone elses house. Why on earth is UPS in the clear for crap like that?

I think that once they get the package until a person signs for the package they should be held completely accountable for what happens to said package, Crap like where they can leave it wherever they want shouldn't be allowed. Heck, What stops them from just delivering a package to their own home (It doesn't even have to be very often) then marking the delivered form?

Updated on the first post -

Called in again last night after reading online that the turnaround time on the UPS claim was 7-10 days, rather than the 3-5 that I had been told. The guy I spoke to confirmed that 7-10 days was the right timeframe, and offered to escalate it within the claims group for me, and e-mail me after doing so. Haven't heard from him yet (16 hours).
